Reading is a large part of my life (if I have a hobby, reading is probably it).  I am convinced that GOOD reading is good for the mind, and edifying for the soul (Phil 4:8).  Several years back, Debbie and I began a practice of reading some books out loud to each other.  (Not best approach for quick reading – it took us many hours to wade through “Moby Dick” – but very enjoyable and a great way to facilitate communication. We get through 4-6 books per year.)  Debbie also reads on her own. I am blessed to hear her insights, and to receive her occasional suggestions for me to consider.  I use a variety of methods to help me choose what to read, mostly on recommendation from trusted sources (like Debbie!). 2008 International Missions Offering! - Once again God has allowed the HHBC family to be generous toward supporting international missions with giving of $7,217. Every penny goes to aid international missions and missionaries through the Lottie Moon offering and providing ministry supplies.

Congratulations to Pastor John Savage - We extend heart-felt congratulations to Pastor John Savage on recently receiving his Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary. John was ordained into the gospel ministry at Harrison Hills and is pastor of Carolina Free Baptist Church in Carolina, Rhode
