The Staff of Harrison Hills Baptist Church
Austin Collins (email) was called as Worship Leader for Harrison Hills Baptist Church in January 2015.
Born and raised in Memphis, TN, Austin was saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ around the age of 8. He graduated from the University of Memphis with a B.S. in Biology and Biochemistry. During his time in college, Austin served as Youth Ministry Assistant and as a Worship Leader at Bartlett Hills Baptist Church in the Memphis area. Realizing that God was calling him into full-time ministry, Austin recently relocated to Louisville to attend Southern Seminary.
Austin met his wife Liz shortly after she moved to Memphis from Silverton, Oregon, where he immediately fell in love with her musical talents and caring heart. They were married in July of 2014. Austin and Liz love sampling local restaurants and making music together.
Austin enjoys listening to all forms of music and playing guitar. He also is passionate about the sciences and learning how the universe works. He loves fellowship over different types of games when he’s not reading science fiction or fantasy. His favorite vacation spot is his family’s cabin on the Kentucky Lake where he spends time fishing and riding 4-wheelers.
Dave (email) joined Harrison Hills Baptist Church in October 2001 and began serving in various ministries in early 2002 such as providing administrative and managerial assistance to the pastor; a position that eventually evolved into the Technology Coordinator position he serves in today.
He was born and grew up in the Lanesville area where he attended the Lanesville Community School system graduating in 1978. He joined the US Air Force upon graduation, spending almost 24 years serving his country as an air defense radar technician. In 1993 he married Sherri, whom he met while she was also serving in the Air Force, but she originally hails from Northern Mississippi. They have four daughters, Kelly, Marianne, Haley, and Hannah. Dave retired from the Air Force in October 2001 and moved back to his hometown of Lanesville, where most of his extended family still lives.
Dave surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, fully trusting Him in the fall of 1983, at the age of 23. He was ordained as a deacon in 1994 and is an active Gideon. Dave spends much of his free time writing computer programs and working on the family farm, which sounds like work but he finds relaxing.
