Changes to the HHBC Website
Mass Mailing Software upgrade to v4.9.0
DadaMail, the program we use to distribute our mass mailings to members and subgroups of members was updated to v4.9.0 with some updates and bug fixes. I've been remiss and skipped quite a few updates until now. It can be found at http://dadamailproject.com/
Hughes.Net Gadgets Updated!
Though things seem quiet, I've been helping to make massive changes to the software that runs this web site. Though it doesn't quite do everything we need it to do here for us, it's come along way.
Anyway, I just had my satellite internet upgraded so I had to create a new windows gadget to monitor the satellite modem status for a Hughes Net HN9000 modem. It wasn't that difficult to convert the one I had written for my previous HN7000S modem.
You'll find both of these gadgets on the files download page. BTW, I've renamed the original gadget to FAPGuard 7000 to keep it separate from the new FAPGuard 9000 gadget.

"Admin" views & links modified
I've been doing many minor updates to work-around my frustration! I've moved all module admin links below the module title and all item admin icons/links below the item title. Not only does this make things more consistent, but most of the time I have to do a lot of scrolling to just add a new item.
"Behind the scenes" work
I've begun work with the 2.0 line of code for ExponentCMS (this site currently uses v0.98+). I've already fixed some issues that cause problems with 2.0, or don't rear their head running under 0.98. E.g., I've added itunes info to podcasts (though the data is mosly meaningless)

I've had to modify a few things such as allowing it to use a newer version of SPAMAssassin, which is what we have installed. You'll find that patch in the resources.
Scripture Reference Linker changed to Reftagger
We had been using a javascript utility to automatically linkify scripture references appearing on this site and provide a pop-up with the scripture, but it was old and didn't recognize all types of scripture references notations. We've now switched to Logos Reftagger, which seems to be more flexible and up to date.
Categorically speaking
I've enhanced the use of categories, by now publishing them in the RSS feeds and iCalendar feeds. Makes it much easier to group items offline.
Offline Blog (and News) Editing Updated
The ability to edit or create blog posts offline, can be considered active. Though it works well with MS Word 2007/2010 (built-in blog editing feature), it is finicky and may not work with other offline blog editors. We've also extended this feature to the News Items.
(New) Tagged Entries
When viewing an individual event, news item, or blog post, you may now notice a set of "tags" at the bottom of the page. These links will bring up a list of associated posts/items/events.
