Sunday Evening Discipleship

We are learning Christ together. Discipleship is essential at Harrison Hills. God has graciously revealed Himself through His Word, giving us everything we need for life and godliness. Scripture is the basis of all discipleship. We equip our members to live out their faith personally, in marriage, in parenting, at church, at work, and everywhere else.   Because we need each other to grow, Harrison Hills has several discipleship opportunities.

Small Groups

Discipleship takes place on Sunday morning in our small groups. In these small groups, we use the Gospel Project to study the Bible together and apply it to life. The Gospel project is designed to show how the Bible is one story that connects every book, chapter and verse together. It offers a Christ centered chronological 3-year journey through the Bible. God’s plan to redeem humanity through his Son, Jesus Christ is its foundation.   The Gospel Project gives five daily Bible studies that follow up on the weekly small group lesson. It also offers a weekly small group study that Fathers are encouraged to use with their family each week.

In addition to the Gospel Project scripture memory and catechism are provided each week to memorize.  Families are encouraged and trained with the use of each.  We promote the use of the Baptist shorter catechism for our adults and youth.

Sunday Evening Family Discipleship

Our Sunday evening discipleship targets a specific topic: conflict resolution, godly character, biblical counseling, peacemaking, leadership, sharing the gospel, prayer, biblical theology or systematic theology. All topics are designed for the entire family. We take a break over the winter and summer holiday seasons.

Wednesday Evening Discipleship

Our men’s and women’s discipleship groups meet on the last Wednesday of every month, discussing books that apply specifically to men and women. Our present study for men is 'Licensed To Kill' by Brian Hedges and for our ladies it is 'Loving God With All Your Mind' by Elizabeth George.

Youth Discipleship

At Harrison Hills, our main goal in youth ministry is discipleship. Parents are the primary disciplers of their children. As a church, we stand with the parents, equipping both the parents and students to grow to be more like Christ.  We believe the family equipping model will lead to gospel centered relationships, studying the bible together, getting to know one another on a spiritual level, serving together and inviting others to put their faith in Christ.

Men's and Women's Discipling Groups

On the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm, our men meet with Pastor Rick and our women meet with Debbie Griffin for gender specific discipling. Students are encouraged to attend these groups.
