Worship Projection for the Ceiling Challenged - Part 3
In this third and final article, I'll discuss some minor challenges we overcame during the installation and implementation of using projection during our worship services. It would be nice to believe that after all the time spent in paving the way and in preparation, we'd be almost finished, which is partially true. The real gut-wrencing part is yet to come.
In the previous articles you'll note we had decided on the type of installation and equipment. This included a decision to go with an electric screen to the side of our platform, specifcially choosing the EliteScreens VMAX2 106. The projector would be a Dell WX4310 which would receive its video over cables and be controlled from an existing sound "booth" in the back of the worship area. Additionally, we would replace our chandeliers with surface mounted flourescent fixtures making sure the ones between the mounted projector and screen could easily be turned off.
Though it may sound like a throw-back to the previous article, we still have some items to purchase to get this thing working. That wouild be the projector mount, all the cables, signal amplifiers, and the projection software (we already had a PC running in the sound booth, otherwise that would be another purchase).
